The Pulpit

Rev. Kathy Pittenger


Kathy Pittenger is the Pastor of Family and Children’s Ministry. She was born and raised outside Rochester, New York. Kathy attended Malone College in Canton, Ohio where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Educational Ministries. During her college years Kathy was an intern at Church of the Lakes United Methodist in Canton, Ohio. She worked with the Children’s Ministries and helped implement a new model of Sunday School called Workshop Rotation.
Kathy continued her education at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. She graduated in May 2006 with a Master of Divinity and an emphasis on Christian Discipleship. Kathy is ordained a Deacon in full connection as of May 2011.
Kathy met her husband, Rich, while attending Asbury. They married on August 7, 2004. Kathy and Rich have a son, Elijah and two cats, Shadow and Solo. In her spare time Kathy loves to scrapbook and cross-stitch.

Kathy has been at Central United Methodist Church since June 2006. She loves the people and is excited about Jesus’ ministry with children and families.
